As a fertilizer, bat dung can be used as top dressing, worked into the soil, or made into tea and used along with regular watering practices. It is fast-acting and has little odor. Because it is a concentrated fertilizer, it is best applied in smaller quantities than other types of manure. Guano is also a natural fungicide and it can control nematodes in the soil.  In addition, bat guano makes a good compost activator, speeding up the decomposition process. 

Bat Guano is a rich source of nitrogen, phosphor, potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper, boron, iron, zinc and other elements. The NPK ratio (nitrogen-phosphate-potassium/potash) can vary depending on the bat’s diet. For example, those feeding strictly on insects produce higher nitrogen content, whereas fruit-eating bats excrete phosphorus rich guano.
